About CEIYEE Foundation

I grew up in Liberia during the country’s 14-year civil war. Like so many families, mine was torn apart by conflict, poverty, and uncertainty. There were days when we did not know where our next meal would come from, and times when staying alive mattered more than going to school.

Through it all, my parents never gave up on me. They sacrificed everything they had to see me through high school and university. Even when money was scarce and life was uncertain, they continued to believe that education could change my future. Their love, resilience, and sacrifices became the foundation of my life.

I was also fortunate to be surrounded by people who believed in me. Through scholarships, the support of family members, mentors, and the generosity of others, I was able to continue my education. Every person who helped me along the way became part of my journey. I would not be where I am today without them. Their kindness taught me a lesson I have never forgotten: one act of compassion can change the course of someone’s life.

Although the war has ended, its impact has not. Trauma does not disappear when the guns fall silent. It lives on in families, communities, and in the hearts of those who survived. The need for healing, hope, and opportunity remains.

When I came to Australia, I carried with me not only my experiences but also a deep sense of gratitude. I cannot solve every problem in the world, but I hope to make a difference, one person, one child, and one family at a time. That hope became the fire in my heart.

The Ceiyee Foundation was not built by me alone. It exists because of my parents’ sacrifices, the kindness of strangers, the encouragement of family and friends, and every person who believed in me when I needed them most. I simply have the privilege of continuing what so many others began in my life.

Being alive today is not something I take for granted. It is more than a privilege—it is a blessing.

The fire in my heart was not born from my own strength. It was kindled by my parents’ sacrifices, the kindness of others, and the opportunities I was given when I needed them most. I am here today because so many people chose to believe in me, encourage me, and walk alongside me.

My greatest hope is to pass that gift on—to help others discover hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging, just as so many people helped me discover mine.

Everyone deserves to belong. Everyone deserves hope. Everyone deserves someone who believes in them.
